Official project name of the rail-road bridge in Kiev is the rail-road bridge. The reason for the starting of construction has come down to the limits of technical possibilities of the existing bridges capacity.

Its building started in 2004 at the initiative of those days Minister of Transport George Kirpa. Therefore, it is popularly called the Kirpa Bridge. The first part of the bridge -a railway – was officially opened on September 27, 2010. The bridge 1,066.2 m long.

Here are two railway tracks connecting the subway station “Kiev-Passenger station” with Darnitskiy Station, and six lanes for cars (three in each direction). An estimated project cost is more than 9,157 mln. Road part starts from the Stolichnaya highway and goes to the Boryspil highway.

Since December 24, a railway track operates. 148 towers are already built, 37,000 tons of steel are assembled, 22,000 cubic meters of embankments are poured, 14 km track are laid.

According to the officials, in December, the opening of road traffic on the bridge “Kirpa” from the left bank to the right is suggested. In the coming days, a railway station “Levoberezhnaya” opens on Darnytskyi Bridge which already has an interchange and overpasses, it is made in accordance with international quality standards.

The second part of the bridge from Naberezhno-Khreschatytska Street to Vatutin’s Ave – is going to be commissioned in early 2012. The Prime Minister Mykola Azarov promised it at the opening ceremony of the first stage of the bridge. The Prime Minister noted that the object completing is planned in 2013.

From the underground Vydubychi over Naddniprianske highway in the direction to the railway station Darnitsa.
Ride along the boulevard of Druzhby Narodov, further along the embankment of Naberezhno-Pecerska road towards the railway station Darnitsa.
From the Ave Vossoydeneniya along the Dnieper embankment and then turn onto the bridge.
